ABOUT & SOURCES
An independent public reference
TongaElections.com organizes election information into readable records. It is not affiliated with the Tonga Electoral Commission, Parliament, any candidate, or any political group.
The aim is modest: make the public record easier to find and easier to read, while keeping the original source one click away.
Editorial approach
Election totals are transcribed from official result sheets. Institutional explanations are checked against Parliament and the Electoral Commission. Historical context uses the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s PARLINE records.
The site separates facts that belong to an election result from facts that can change during a parliamentary term. A vote total is part of the permanent result. A ministerial portfolio, committee assignment or seat vacancy may change and needs a dated parliamentary source.
Names and language
Tongan names include marks that matter. Source documents are not always consistent in how they display apostrophes, fakau‘a and long vowels. We retain the spelling used by the strongest available source and correct obvious transcription problems when another official record supports the correction.

Corrections
A correction should state what was wrong, what replaced it and which source supports the change. A public corrections address will be added when the site’s editorial contact is established.
Independence
