‘Esafe Hema Latu finished first in Ha‘apai 13 with 550 formal votes, or 33.21% of the constituency total. ‘Esafe Hema Latu led the count without reaching 50 per cent. That is enough under first past the post, where the highest vote total wins.
The percentage belongs to this local contest. It is not a national vote share. Tonga’s 17 people’s seats are counted and decided one constituency at a time.
